Segregation of species to widen genetic traits?

I think I have read somewhere that when reintegrating species to the wild, researchers are releasing half to one land mass and half to another land mass, in an attempt to force them to separate genetically. after encouraging the widening of the genes, I presume they will move some from one land mass to mix with the others and vice versa to avoid gene pools becoming too small or speciation occurring. Is this true or did I make it up? A reminder of the importance of writing down sources!

What is a VPN?

VPN is (Virtual Private Network) were first used by companies to enable their employees to securely access internal systems such as email remotely (e.g. from home or while on business trips). Today they are increasingly being used for personal use by individuals to protect their privacy while online in public places (e.g. when using the wi-fi connection in a cafe) or in a country where the internet is censored / blocked (e.g. China, Saudi Arabia…).
